Today I’m going to be breaking down the three most essential apps I use as a social media manager in 2021! I started freelancing almost five years ago now, and I feel really old when I say technology has come a long way. Right now, the wealth of resources available to us as self-employed business owners is really an amazing thing. Let’s dive right in and get you started on my personal faves!
- Canva. Canva is my all time favorite app for making graphics for my own business, and my clients’. There is a free version, and several paid versions to choose from. When I was first starting out, the free version was satisfactory, but as I started getting more clients and needed more options as far as stock photos and designs go, I now have a yearly subscription which is so worth it in my opinion!
- Dollar-Eighty. At the time of posting, this isn’t an app for your phone, but rather a website where you install the plug-in to your browser. So, what is it exactly? From the website: “Dollar Eighty is an Instagram growth strategy formulated by world-leading marketer Gary Vaynerchuk. He suggests leaving your 2 cents (opinion) on 9 posts for 10 different hashtags. 0.02(cents) x 9(posts) x 10(hashtags) = $1.80”. Again, there are free, and paid versions. I’ve seen an incredible amount of growth using this app, and again, the paid version is well worth it, but the free version is more than adequate if you are just starting your business! - HoursTracker. This is a free app I have installed on my iPhone that helps me track how much time I’m spending on any job that I’m billing hourly. It has a clock in / clock out feature, and allows you to input information including your hourly rate and a job name. All you have to do from there is make sure you’re inputting your time correctly, and HoursTracker does the math for you! Simply select your jobs at the end of the month and export to email for easy billing!
